hello

ikalawang araw, maraming tinagalang corporate profile and vision presentations. info overload. daming kailangang sauluhin.

so far, marami akong natututuhan dito. i am fascinated by how much the office reveals so much to me by merely sweating in a day. i get to know who is in the loop and who's not, and more importantly, why. i am still trying to calculate how the japanese boss really works. i can sense a not so secret hostility between him and the staff. at this point, i am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and merely attribute the friction to cultural differences.

i mean, he cannot stand pinoy work habits daw, like texting at work, not taking notes in meetings, taking naps during office time, using the office phone for personal calls, and all other such things. on the other hand, we pinoys tend to hate micromanagers, those who continually pester us, hehe. the japanese are famous (notorious?) for being such workaholics, and for continuously "apologizing" for some perceived inability to help.

although last thursday, i saw him eavesdropping at meetings twice in one afternoon. is that still cultural? OC ba lahat ng mga hapon? or, is it a sign of what one colleague told me, a latent contempt against the pinoy?

abangan...
